MIMCOM Workshop

Glenholm, Scotland. October 2000


The system operators from seven of the MIMCOM sites gathered at the Glenholm Centre in southern Scotland from October 18th to 24th, 2000 for a workshop covering all aspects of the operation of the MIMCOM network.

As well as the participants from Kisian, Kilifi, Nairobi, Navrongo, Ifakara, Amani, and Dar es Salaam, workshop leaders also included the project leader and technical director from the National Library of Medicine, senior staff from Redwing Satellite Solutions Ltd., Mike Jensen from South Africa, and Neil Robinson of the Glenholm Centre.

Glenholm Workshop

The workshop was sponsored by the NLM, with travel and staff costs being covered by WRAIR, NIAID, CDC, Wellcome Trust, and NIH/OD.

Partipcants and trainers were also greatly indebted to O'Reilly Associates and McGraw-Hill for the donation of a comprehensive set of reference books for all sites. These were arranged with the welcome assistance of the National Science Foundation and the Network Startup Resource Centre.
